FORM Design House is the Potomac River, Alexandria, VA

This project was a total gut renovation and a very modest 3300sf mid-century tract house on a slope, the Potomac River. One thing in front of two stories behind the house, which really does not work well or even recognizes the views of the river. Upstairs there were several small rooms packed together – three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and a living room, but the bedroom and kitchen / dining room overlooking the river was. Downstairs there had not been used – was a large warehouse at “cellar” feel, but the incredible views of the river, and a small guest room and bathroom. We started upstairs up as much as possible, to create one large living room / dining room / entertainment area on the left and expand the opening to a balcony by adding a series of French doors, together with all three bedrooms, one nice size bedroom suite, the right is a bedroom, sitting room, dressing room and master bathroom that was all views of the river and distribute a low-level storage area, family room and study / guest room, while the extended guest bathroom. Functionally Reform, opened the house light and views of all parties to use the entire color (other than beige, they said …) And now that the river will become an integral part of the experience is there. This project was discussed in March 2008 issue of the DC Modern Luxury magazine’s cover story and the Home section . . .
